I have a HP Pavilion dv6500 with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. My DVDROM is not detected. A message is shown on startup: no tpm or tpm has problem. I have replaced my DVDROM but the problem still there. Can you help me how to fix a problem.

Is this a sudden change or did you change/install something before this happened? Check all cables at the device and on the motherboard. Does the device show in Device Manager? Is there an exclamation mark or is it possibly disable in device manager? Any errors in the event logs? Please let us know what you have done so far other than the swap the DVD ROM. The TPM error relates to a different piece of hardware. – Dave M Dec 28 '12 at 16:28
I had this problem in my old Lenovo once. A google search in the Lenovo forums made me delete some registry keys. So you might want to look in that direction. – pratnala Dec 28 '12 at 17:26
