A short while back, I noticed Windows 8 was running slowly, and after a quick trip to Task Manager, I noticed that my disk read-write time was 100% while my cpu and ram within normal levels. Also, the kb/s that the disk was being sent was nowhere near what it should have been to cause a 100% read-write time.
After some investigation, I discover that this occurs most frequently when I run the installer that comes with Windows 8. This did not happen until recently and I have yet to discover the cause. The computer also hangs when I try to perform a system restore via control panel. This also prevents me from performing regular updates.
How can I fix or repair the installer so that it doesn't thrash my disk while getting nothing done?
