I just downloaded a podcast which has an open 'box' to the right (not to be checked). What does this mean? Is there video associated with this? Also that particular podcast will not copy to my iPad Nano when I update it... all the other podcast do. What am I missing.

Thanks

A box where? What software are you in (iTunes maybe)? Windows or Mac? We need more details, this question is impossible to answer as-is. – Shinrai Jan 2 at 16:28

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

I agree that this question, as-is is very difficult to answer accurately. If you post what version of iTunes and what Generation iPod and software, you will probably get a better answer.

If you are using the latest version of iTunes and have an older iPod. The box could be one of two things that might not allow you to copy it to your iPod. The first could be that it is a video and can not be downloaded to an older iPod. If the the box has an arrow in it, you need to download it from iTunes before you can view it.

If the box is in the same column with checked boxes for the other podcasts, then simply try checking the box.

Checked songs

iTunes allows you to use this as a sort of "enabled/disabled" feature for certain media, and can be configured to not sync unchecked songs/videos/podcasts/audiobooks to devices. I imagine this is what happened, and checking it should allow it to be synced again.

Syncing only checked songs
