I changed my cd/dvd drive letter from D to E (no other changes yet). I swear I have done this before with no problems, and followed microsoft's instructions

When looking in explorer, if I click on my E drive in the left hand folder-style explorer, the drive contents show up (whatever is on the cd). If I just open up explorer and don't have folder view enabled or even if I do but click on the right side 'DVD RW Drive (E:) cdnameHere' I get a popup that says 'E:\ Application not found'. I can optionally right click the same thing that gives me an error and then select any of the open options and they all work. It is just double clicking that doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to fix this and still keep the drive letter as E? I really don't want to change back to D just so explorer works

@RyanRies You think it's worth a migration? I'm more in the close-and-delete-it camp. – HopelessN00b Jan 3 '13 at 19:33
Have you tried rebooting it? BTW, can we get a screen shot perhaps, I am not sure I am following what you are trying to describe? – Zoredache Jan 3 '13 at 19:38
