I think I might be half-dead or something, because the Mac's touchpads (at least the 2011 Air model which I and my ex both own) often doesn't detect my finger taps. Some days are worse than others, perhaps depending on how cold or dry my hands are, I'm not sure. I only know that other people don't seem to have this problem (my ex teases me when it happens).

I don't like the hard press (clickpad behavior) — it feels bad, is heavy, and I'm used to using tap-to-click. So I'm hoping there might be some low-level driver settings that I'd be able to fiddle with in order to make the touchpad more sensitive to my touches?

TIA :)

Daniel

UPDATE: I've discovered that the lost taps aren't so much because the pad doesn't detect my finger, it just doesn't detect my finger disappearing. So I get "mousedown" events without "mouseup" events.
