I have an older Dell laptop (vostro 1500) which has a "nvidia 8600M GT" card. I've updated the graphic card drivers constantly, but from about 7-8 months Windows crashes like once every 3-4 days and it's annoying. Sometimes I get a message saying that "the graphic driver crashed and has recovered", but other times it's a complete freeze.

Anyway do you know a stable version of Nvidia's GPU driver that I can downgrade to?

when changing cards, have you completely cleaned the drivers using DriverSweeper? link – Lorenzo Von Matterhorn Jan 13 '13 at 1:02
I've checked the "clean install" option when installing drivers.. – Ann Jan 13 '13 at 1:03
sometimes that isn't enough. give DS a chance :) – Lorenzo Von Matterhorn Jan 13 '13 at 1:03
