1- I have a 2Wire 2701HGV-E modem/router that is set to receive internet and give acces to other PCs wirelessly.

2- I bought a Lorex surveillance system that could be hooked up to the 2Wire so I could monitor my cameras over the internet.

Lorex told me that the surveillance system has to be physically connected to the 2Wire with a CAT5 cable. Unfortunately I cannot do that as they are on different floors in my house and because of other set ups (have a PAP2 to my 2Wire for phone and where phone lines are). But Lorex also told me I could onnect a router to the surveillance system and that router could send its wireless signal to the 2Wire.

So I bought a Netgear WGR614v9 wireless router but I don't know just how to configure them together.

1- In which router do I enter my ISP's credential (username and password). 2- How do I set the 2Wire to receive or send the signal that will give internet. 3- In the Netgear there is a wireless repeater function. Is that something I should also configure? etc. etc.

Thanks.

What you're looking for is called a client bridge mode. I'm not seeing anything like this in the router's manual, which isn't surprising. There is a WDS mode, which might work but typically doesn't play nice with other brands/wireless radios. You can give it a try, but if I were in your shoes I would return the router you purchased and find one that will connect to your 2Wire access point and act as a simple client. You would then run ethernet from this router to your cameras.
