Windows 7 keeps dropping the home connection and trying to connect to pretty much any other network in range.

The home network just disappears off the list and whatever new network it's latched onto has the "connect automatically" box ticked. Tonight there's 2 networks with that box ticked!

I can't remove these networks or change the settings because I've never connected to them before and they're not saved.

Somehow I’m convinced that throwing the laptop out of the window is not going to solve your problem. Are you using the built-in Windows® wifi software? – kinokijuf Jan 26 '13 at 15:18
Knowing more about your networking hardware would help, and listing what exactly you've already tried. – slhck Jan 26 '13 at 15:24
