@JL - There is no value creating a question for every version of Windows, MacOSX or Linux. One is enough. The answer can be specific if required. This remains a dupe. – Diago Oct 14 '09 at 9:54

Just use VLC Media player, that will play anything you can throw at it without extra codecs
