I just got the Aspire V3-571G-9686. I removed Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on a new SSD. I've been playing SC2 on it without any issues with an external mouse. The mouse is well-behaved on everything else.

It was when I installed and started playing Deus Ex: HR that the mouse began to left click by itself and caused me to shoot when I didn't want to. This was happening on a Logitech m100 mouse. I bought a new mouse, the Cobra E-3lue, and the mouse is still left-clicking on its own.

I installed New Vegas thinking maybe it was a Deus Ex issue, but lo and behold the mouse was left-clicking on its own on that game as well. Tried NeoTokyo, a source mod, and found the issue there too.

What I have tried:

  • A different mouse.
  • Changing USB ports.
  • Disabling laptop's trackpad in Device Manager.
  • Reinstalling mouse drivers.

This issue is confined to first-person shooter games. I've no problems with the mouse on the desktop and in non-FPS games.

the fps aspect is most likely entirely coincidental. Most probably it's a directinput issue, or something similar. – Sirex Jan 27 at 18:57
