I am using a sony vaio. All of a sudden today when i switched on the computer it started making high pitched sounds. The problem disappears when i run linux. So there is no problem in hard drive or cpu cooling. What else could it be....

Is it coming from the speakers? Does Windows run OK otherwise? Does it do it in Safe Mode? – Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 Jan 27 '13 at 19:01
Its not coming from speakers and first a high pitched noise comes as soon as the the login screen comes. After that along with that strange sounds fast rotation noise of hard drive is there But its not there in linux. It is there in safe mode also. – kanz Jan 27 '13 at 19:11
