The cut and paste buffer is probably stored entirely in memory. If it is ever swapped to disk, it will probably be in a location and form where you can't get at it without extreme difficulty. |

If you're just using the standard clipboard that comes with Windows, then it is stored in your RAM. That's why when you exit Microsoft Word after you've copied a large file, it asks if you want to keep the file in your clipboard. If not, then it clears the clipboard object to reclaim that memory. |
