I created dependent dropdown lists in my workbook. The first dropdown selected is nails_screws the second dropdown dependent on that choice will not display.

All of the other dropdowns in the sheet work. I cannot figure it out. I am using the =INDIRECT function. Do you know what the problem is?

some screenshot of desired output can help, and why you posting in Superuser, this is stackoverflow question. –  Mowgli Feb 13 '13 at 21:28

@Mowgli Excel questions are on topic for SuperUser. Since this has to do with customizing a spreadsheet and not coding, I think this would be decidedly off topic for StackOverflow. –  techturtle Feb 13 '13 at 21:48

@user198053, what is the data layout? What is in the nails_screws dropdown? What is the source of that? Do you have range names defined for each option in the dropdown? Are the names correct? –  teylyn Feb 13 '13 at 21:50

As soon as we get some more information we can help answer your question. Until then, this is likely to go unanswered. –  CharlieRB Feb 14 '13 at 12:57

@CharlieRB this is a 2 worksheet workbook, excel 2010. I have a quote order form wrksht and items wrksht. I have 29 items/categories with alot of product. the second drpdwn list is dependent on the 1st out of the 29 only the nails_screws will not display dropdown list. All the others work great! I have redone the data validation over again & still won't work for this 1 item. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, michelle –  user198053 Feb 14 '13 at 19:27
