I have two hard drives. One with Windows 8, the other I was using for w8 "File History". I decided to try Linux Mint on it. I installed Mint just fine on my second hard drive. Now when I reboot I can't access W8 at all.
Here's what I've tried:
With everything plugged in:
Select the W8 HDD from the boot menu: blinking cursor.
Select my W8 install disk from boot menu: blinking cursor.
Unplug the Mint HDD:
Select the W8 HDD from the boot menu: grub rescue> prompt.
Select my W8 install disk from boot menu: grub rescue> prompt.
I have no idea why I cannot boot from W8 anymore. I've searched around for most of today with no success. I tried to update-grub and it doesn't do anything (I assume because W8 is on a different HDD). I didn't touch the W8 HDD during my Mint install.
Thanks for any insights you may have.
EDIT: I can SEE my W8 files. I can explore that HDD while I'm running on the Mint HDD.
EDIT2: I'm fine with deleting this Mint partition. I can't just do that the way all the tutorials are saying though, because EasyBCD is a Windows app.
