I'm currently experiencing a brute force attack on VNC on one of my machines. I have set up a VM (currently Ubuntu, but any OS would be possible) where I plan to route the VNC port. I would like to see what, and if anything, the attacker does when I grant him access.

To do this I plan to use RealVNC and set the password to blank. But just to settle my academic curiosity I would like to log what password the attacker is trying before that. As it is good form to not log or show any password, I'm looking for a server that has the option to show the password beeing tested

I realize that this is some what of a peculiar request, but someone out there might have a good suggestion.
