I'm looking to undelete some files that I just... deleted. I recall several (10) years ago I used a program than scanned a given drive and undeleted the files in place, presumably by just relinking them into the MFT. This had the added benefit of being super fast. Does anyone know what mystical program I am thinking of, or an alternative that does the same? I don't think this prog was mainstream, if that helps.

The results that I came up with all require recovery of the found files to an alternate partition/disk. While I could use this approach, I have about 220Gb of data and no readily available drive.

For us to know the exact program is unlikely. What was wrong or what didn't you like with the results of your Google/Yahoo searches? – Dave Mar 5 '13 at 8:37
