I have a FX 8350 black edition which should be showing 4GHz but CPUZ shows it to be around 3.7GHz. In my BIOS is says it is 4000MHz clock speed and I really cant seem to find why it is lower than it should be.

Power = Antec High current pro 750w CPU = Amd FX 8350 Black edition Gpu = Radeon HD 7970 MB = GA-970A-D3 BIOS = F11 OS = Windows 8 x64

CPUZ shows: Core speed ~ 3.7 Multiplier ~ x 18.5 Bus Speed ~ 201 MHz HT Link ~ 2416 MHz

Did you test while stressing the CPU or at a moment when it is mostly idle? (Power management will reduce CPU speed when it is not needed. Try running something like prime95 and then recheck CPU speed.) – Hennes Mar 7 at 20:34
