I want to install a Virtual Microphone (a non physical input source interface where I can direct an output such as my sound card), so that I can play sounds/music through it.

Is this possible? If so, how would I go about doing this?

What OS are you using? – galacticninja Mar 11 '13 at 6:08
What do you mean by a virtual microphone? – nhinkle Mar 11 '13 at 7:16
This shouldn't be closed. He wants a virtual input interface that he can direct an output too. It could be considered a shopping list as he wants software to do the job but certainly isn't 'Not a real question' – Simkill Mar 11 '13 at 11:58
@Simkill: Your explanation makes more sense than just stating "virtual microphone" and assuming everyone knows what that is. Why don't you edit the question, remove the shopping bit and vote to reopen? – Karan Mar 11 '13 at 18:07
@Davidenko people with 3k+ rep can vote to reopen by clicking on the option Simkill's edit was pretty great, but OP still hasn't mentioned which OS they're working on – Sathya Mar 12 '13 at 12:51
