When I turn my laptop on it come up with this window error recovery screen. It says windows failed to start. It then gives me 2 options. Option 1 is to launch startup repair and it also ways that option 1 is recommended. However when I pick that option it goes through the start up repair and restarts back to the windows error recovery screen.

The second option is to start windoms normally. When I pick this option it goes to a start up screen with nothing on it but a bar at the bottom center and inside the bar is a smaller bar that moves from one side of the larger bar to the other, as if the computer is thinking. This page usually comes up when I start the computer but usually it finishes thinking and goes on the the login screen. Hope that wasn't confusing. All I want to know is there a way to reset the whole computer? Or could I start the computer just like the last time it booted normally?

Just to be clear - Option 2 gets you to windows (logon) or it shuts down, restarts and loops into repair screen again? – Carl B Mar 18 '13 at 5:22
