This has been a good 6 hour long nightmare at this point, getting Windows 8 to install on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro 13". Currently it's stuck in a reboot cycle.
After the installer finishes copying and expanding files and the machine reboots, I get the Windows 8 boot screen with the loading blobs and a message that says "Preparing Devices x%". Once it reaches 99% the MacBook suddenly reboots and enters a reboot cycle, displaying this message each time: "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click 'OK' to restart the computer, and then restart the installation."
I'm installing from a USB thumb drive (I have replaced my SuperDrive with a second hard drive) which shouldn't matter. I used Microsoft's Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool to copy the ISO to the thumb drive. I have reinstalled two times after a format from OS X, and have tried using the Refresh and Reset options from the install drive several times, which displays the "Preparing Devices" once more then enters the reboot cycle.
What are my options?
