I have two spreasheet and there are numbers of column on both the sheet, There is one common field (IDs) between those sheets. I can do multiple vlookup but would not like to do so because there are more than 20 columns needs to copied across from one sheet to other ..

would there be any other solution available to this problem pls

Would you explain in more detail what you are trying to achieve (preferably with some references to where the data resides / how often you expect to require to do this / how many cells involved)? What software are you using? A link to a simplified example of input and desired output might be easiest. – pnuts Mar 28 '13 at 12:52

It might be worth looking at an index match combination where you have a column with the match formula then multiple index formulae that reference the match column. This should be more efficient since it only searches once per row.
