# What size is A2 size? [closed]

In printing work here, A2 is 594 x 420 mm But I see in card making, A2 tends to be smaller. What is the standard size of A2?

So you're saying that A2 is... smaller than A2? Either way, I don't think this question really relates to computer hardware or software. –  oKtosiTe Mar 24 '13 at 8:25
A2 is the size of four sheets of A4. –  oKtosiTe Mar 24 '13 at 8:30

The standard size for A4 is 420 mm × 594 mm (16.54 in × 23.39 in) as you wrote. You can look up all paper sizes here

According to Wikipedia, the international standard (ISO 216) confirms your 420 × 594 measure.

You are talking about two different animals.

A2 Card size (and other A cards sizes)

While standard A size paper (including A2)

-

A2 size paper is half of A1 (using the long side) which is half again of A0.

A0 is a square meter, with the sides in an aspect ratio of 1:(square root of 2). This aspect ratio is the one that stays the same when dividing over the long side.

So the 420x595mm mentioned in other answers are not some arbitrary numbers. The paper size nicely fits in the metric system.
