I created RAID 0 partition using this command
[root@localhost ~]# mdadm --create /dev/md0 --level=0 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda6 /dev/sda7
And it's Created...
Using This command I created filesystem
[root@localhost ~]# mkfs -t ext4 /dev/md0
I mounted the raid partition using this command
[root@localhost ~]# mount /dev/md0 /raid/0
I copied some content to that partition and Unmounted the partition
This the output of raid detail
[root@localhost 1]# mdadm --detail /dev/md0 . . Number Major Minor RaidDevice State 0 8 6 0 active sync /dev/sda6 1 8 7 1 active sync /dev/sda7
After that I tried this command to make one partition as faulty
[root@localhost /]# mdadm /dev/md0 --fail /dev/sda7 mdadm: set /dev/sda7 faulty in /dev/md0
After that I Again typed this command to check raid detail
[root@localhost 1]# mdadm --detail /dev/md0
There is no change in output, After that I mounted the partition, There is no data loss... How it possible in RAID 0? Anything Wrong I did Here?
I am using CentOS 6.2.
