An USB hard drive opens correctly in one installation of Windows 7 and in another asks for "initialization" in the disk management console.
Why could this apparently random behavior be happening?
Please tell me if I can provide any further information.
The drive is a "TOSHIBA external USB 3.0" (looks like this). The disk came ready to use pre-formated with NTFS.
The drive works on a Compaq Mini with Windows 7 "Enterprise" Installed.
The drive do not work on a Generic (Clone) PC with Windows 7 Home "Premium" Installed.
None of them have USB 3.0 ports.
