I'm currently having a bit of an issue with some Sony software (there's been 20 emails between me and their tech support so far).
They've now sent me a python script to run to "gather some additional info" about my mac.
I work as a programmer, so naturally the first thing I do is read a script before I run it.
Everything in the script looks fine to me, except one line, which calls system_profiler with a detailLevel of full.
system_profiler -detailLevel full
Small alarm bells started to ring in my mind, as I knew there are 3 detail levels for system_profiler:
mini report with no personal information basic basic hardware and network information full all available information
Looking at the report that full generates, "all available information", literally is "all available information".
I can't find anywhere what the precise contents of a full detail_level system report contains (and there's far too much to go through by hand).
My question is: Does anybody know what contents are in a report, and if this would be an invasion of privacy or security risk giving it away?
