I am planning to put this external Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt Adapter with a fast SSD SATA-III driver on my iMac (Mid-2011, 12,1; which has a regular hard drive).
My idea is to make this external drive as the primary boot device and I am expecting a huge increase in performance since it will be a considerably faster driver (SSD, SATA-III) on a very fast interface (thunderbolt, 10 Gbps).
My question is: is it a good idea? Should I expect huge performance gain? Or should I stick with my regular internal hard drive?
Thanks a lot in advance.
