I want to be able to connect (SSH) to a remote server that is whitelisted to my organisation's OpenVPN server. Currently I can do this by starting TunnelBlick, then SSHing.
- Need to remember which servers are configured this way
- All traffic gets routed through the VPN, even irrelevant web traffic.
- Starting/stopping TunnelBlick confuses Chrome, which needs to be restarted as well.
Ultimately I'm looking for something that will let me do this:
$ start-vpn-client $ ssh remoteserver $ stop-vpn-client
(And hence, set up a ProxyCommand setting in ~/.ssh/config ...)
The solution in this question looks perfect - except that "Network Preferences" doesn't support OpenVPN.
