I have the following setup..
Home Network over 3 Devolo HomePlugs.
Plug 1 Connects to the Draytek 2830n which is my primary router with DHCP configured and provides internet access. A ReadyNas NV+ (linux) plugs into the Draytek.
Plug 2 connects to a Netgear WPN824 Broadband Router. This router has DHCP disabled and WAN disabled so it purely acts as a Wireless extender. It's IP address is provided by the Draytek. A Dreambox DM800 (linux) and PS3 connect into the Netgear Router.
Plug 3 connects to a Vista workstation
Periodically, my Vista workstation loses connection not only to the Internet, but to the Draytek router AND NAS connected through Plug 1. Whilst this is happening, The Vista workstation can still ping the Netgear Router on Plug 2, and the DM800/PS3. From Vista, I can telnet into the DM800 and still ping both the NAS and the Draytek router.
From the DM800, I can also ping my HTC OneX connected wirelessly to the Draytek. The ping fails from the Vista Workstation.
So although Vista can't see the NAS/Draytek, it can see the devices on the other Plugs, and those devices can see the NAS/Draytek.
Although Vista cannot see the devices connected to Plug 1, the Devolo Cockpit on the Vista workstation shows all three plugs connected.
To fix this problem, I typically have to either release/config the IP, and/OR reset the network adapter on the Vista workstation.
are there any commands I can try to get closer to figuring out what's going wrong ?
