I use windows 8. Windows changes the system volume everytime I plug my headphones in or out. I've searched, and most people actually want this behaviour, but I think it's really annoying. When I want to switch from headphones to speakers, the volume can be incredibly high, and there's nothing I can do about it (except eliminating every source of sound): setting the volume down won't work because it jumps up when I disconnect my headphones anyway.
How can I orevent this from happening? I already tried opening the sound mixer window: it seems that windows doesn't recognize my headphones as an external device. Windows claims that it just uses the speakers, but the volume DOES change. (So it seems to me that windows does in some way know that it uses the audio-out jack instead of the speakers).
It's pretty odd, but I seem to be only one bothered by this. Most threads I find are about the opposite problem of people that don't have this feature turned on and want it. The guy in this thread has the same behaviour but only asks why the behaviour is that way, and doesn't seem bothered by it.
Anyway, I hope somebody can help me!
