Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am using FastCGI module mod_fcgid for Apache, and it generates the folder:

drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache var/mod_fcgid

Because I am running Apache with another user I created (and I did change the user and group directive in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf), the module does not work and gives "Permission Denied" error on the folder above.

I have to use su and set:

chown -R my_username_that_runs_apache mod_fcgid
chgrp -R my_group_that_runs_apache mod_fcgid

to make it work, but every time the computer restarts, the folder permission and ownership get reset to the original one again. How can I make it persistent?
