I have a Vizio all in one which when I updated it to Windows 8 all went south. Can not boot. Used Norton recover tool, but it can not find the master boot record.

In DOS, there is a x:> drive, no C drive. How can I change x: to C:? This is driving me up the wall.

Need help to get my boot back on the hard drive.

In this case, it is likely that x:\ refers to a bootable ram disk, rather than a point on your hdd. Look here for instructions on how to repair the MBR on a Win8 system: redmondpie.com/how-to-fix-windows-8-mbr-master-boot-record –  Frank Thomas Apr 19 '13 at 18:11
