Does anyone know how to remove/bypass an IBM Rescue and Recovery password? I have an R52 ThinkPad and I cannot remember what the password could be.

Is this a coded question for "I stole a laptop and can't get past his password"? – davr Oct 21 '09 at 22:16
Absolutely not. I have a bunch of crapware on this system and wanted to start from scratch, but I can't remember my IBM R&R password. I could just do a fresh install, but then I'd have to download all the drivers to get everything to work... :-( – JFV Oct 21 '09 at 22:42
At least for me Windows already included all drivers my Thinkpad needed. Well, not Windows XP I fear, but newer versions do. – Joey Oct 21 '09 at 22:53
By any chance did you set any security questions? I'm assuming no. – DaveParillo Oct 22 '09 at 4:31

You should purchase the disks directly from the manufacturer (in this case, by calling Lenovo support). – Shinrai Aug 11 '10 at 20:33
