I'm building my home office and I have some doubts about how to structure my network. I made some draws to illustrate different solutions for my case and I wan't to know wich one is the best.

Some details

The HTPC is a media server running Plex, the movies and series are stored in the NAS. The most active Plex clients are: PCs 2, 3 and 4.

The PCs 4 and 5 needs to access frequently files stored in the NAS and they do hourly backups to the NAS.

Normally the streaming of movies and series from the HTPC happens when the PC 4 and 5 are not accessing files on the NAS.

My priority is the speed of the transfers between the NAS and PCs 4 and 5.

The PCs 4 and 5 are in the basement, so the case 1 or 2 would be better because I only need to pass one cable to de basement.

I would like to know what solution is the best for my situation. And I need some sugestions for the switch.
