I just learned how to add a text box to a cell and enable a scroll down bar as I had too much text in a cell (from this question To much text for an Excel cell).

I created my spreadsheet and added my comments (actually I added several text boxes) The problem now is that they are frozen! as if they didn't exist, I can see them but can't write anything on them. I went to the design mode but the windows pops up blank...

Can you provide a little more detail? It is difficult to tell what the root of the issue is from your description –  James Jenkins Apr 23 '13 at 15:33

I opened my file and when I try add my comments on the text boxes I cant because it doenst allow me. They are there with my last updates but I cant audit them or change them. can I attach the file? –  diana Apr 23 '13 at 16:34

You can add images at SO but not files, and your account does not yet have sufficient reputation for posting and image. I am not sure what is causing your problem. I would suggest creating a new work with just one text box, attempt the edit that is now frozen. This should make it easier for you to problem solve. –  James Jenkins Apr 23 '13 at 16:42

I tried opening a new tab and add a new text box, but the insert option under the development tab is greyed out... If I open a new excel file then I can use the insert button....maybe this can help you understanda little bit better my problem? I really have no idea what to do...thank you for helping me. –  diana Apr 23 '13 at 17:03

Start with a brand new Excel book, do one thing at a time, test after every change. I will not be able to help you with the solution as I don't use text box in excel. I am offering pointers on how you can trouble shoot the problem. –  James Jenkins Apr 23 '13 at 17:07
