i would like to simply mount a shared windows drive on Linux but make it resilient to network connection failures or some other kind of error that could happen with the connection to the windows machine.

Simple cifs mounts just don't recover if the connection to the windows server is broken.

So, anyway to create a mount from unix to windows where if for example the windows machine dies and comes back up the mount is recovered correctly ?

Thanks.

They recover here but not very quickly. Takes up to 5 minutes. –  user168261 Apr 24 '13 at 19:54
