USB flash memory sticks are quickly piling up in my drawers, backpacks and pile of miscelaneous IT junk. Most of them (free from vendors) are 1-2GB. 1-2GB is not practical to use as every day computer storage or backup storage. What options do I have if I want to combine them all into one storage device, and what limitations are there to such a concoction?

I found a device called the Outdated USB Collector which seems to fit the bill, but 5 usb sticks seems very limited when most of the usb sticks I have are not more then a couple GB's each.

I am using Windows 7, on a Dell E6400 if the OS/hardware matters. I am open to a DIY project (possibly with USB hubs and software to handle the drives) or a device you purchase (similar ot the Outdate USB Collector).

Purchasing recommendations are off-topic here, and as for a DIY project perhaps electronics.SE might be a better place to ask? (You can flag for migration if you want.) –  Karan Apr 29 '13 at 21:58
