I created a dmg file of a 16 gb USB flashdrive a few weeks ago that was formatted fat32 and I am now unable to open the file. The file is only 804mb, but when I try and open it, I get an error window that says "file too large" (Opening Error). I have 120gb of space on this computer, so the error makes no sense to me.
I tried performing a disk verify and a disk repair of the dmg through apple's Disk Utility, but it doesn't do anything, it just flashes and then nothing happens. If I try and convert the file through disk utility, I get another error message that says "Unable to create 'KEVINUSBBACKUP.cdr' (File too large)" (Linked Below).
I tried changing the extension of a duplicate version of the dmg file to .iso, .cdr, and .img all to no avail (Got the same opening error as before). Finally I tried opening it through CharlesSoft's Pacifist utility, and still was unable to open it (Linked Below).
I have no idea what to do. Anyone have any suggestions? Specs of file and OS:
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.8
File Extension: DMG
Size: 804 MB
User Permissions: Read & Write
Disk Utility and Pacifist Errors:
