I have a raspberry pi with Arch Linux ARM installed. I would like to run commands via my laptop. I configured SSH correctly and I can log in, but I can't do anything. There is no shell. ssh user@host bash works, but it's not useful because I don't have auto-complete and I can't use programs such as nano or vim.

When I'm on my Pi, I can log in and use bash.

I didn't try another distribution like Raspbian, because I really want to use Arch Linux.

In case you do reconsider, it does work ok on Raspbian. – parkydr May 9 '13 at 14:56
