I'm kinda just starting with OS X and Homebrew, yet I find it very useful. However I have one problem: is there a way to make Homebrew automatically create a symlink to the directory of the latest version of a formula? For example, after installing gradle we have

/usr/local/Cellar/gradle/1.6

and it would be very handy (for external configurations) to have also something like

/usr/local/Cellar/gradle/current

(helps with avoiding reconfiguration after formula was updated).

This already exists, but not where you'd expect it. Find the latest versions of linked Kegs in:

/usr/local/Library/LinkedKegs

For example, part of a directory listing:

lrwxr-xr-x    1 werner  admin    23 Jul 30  2012 yasm -> ../../Cellar/yasm/1.2.0
lrwxr-xr-x    1 werner  admin    34 May 10 14:52 youtube-dl -> ../../Cellar/youtube-dl/2013.05.05
lrwxr-xr-x    1 werner  admin    32 Mar 21 14:37 yuicompressor -> ../../Cellar/yuicompressor/2.4.7
lrwxr-xr-x    1 werner  admin    22 Dec 26 20:30 zsh -> ../../Cellar/zsh/5.0.2
