I am trying to copy an avi file from my laptop to a memory stick (formatted with FAT32). The memory stick has 16GB & the file I am trying to copy is only 2.5GB.

The avi file is a homevideo which I have synched with music. The avi file copies across to the memory stick but when I try to play it from the memory stick the music sounds like an old cassette tape that has been scratched (distorted in places).

I have tried copying across the video without music and it is OK. I have tried copying across the music (MP3 format) and it plays from the memory stick OK. But the AVI which has them combined just doesn't play the music properly. Any suggestions? I used virtualdub to marry the music and video.

If you copy the file off the memory stick, does it play okay? – David Schwartz May 13 '13 at 4:47
Hi, thanks for your response. When I copy it from the memory stick back onto my computer the sound is still strange. – caroline May 14 '13 at 8:24
