This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers.

Why would remapping ctrl and caps prevent you from using vim or other programs? The alternate remapping that you see suggested was the default on many keyboards, and people used vi and other programs just fine. – user4815162342 May 12 '13 at 6:45
well, thank you for the suggest. I would like to have a try. – hackrole May 13 '13 at 1:10
