I know that DVI as an interface does not support audio or HDCP. But how about DVI as a cable?
Since HDMI to DVI adapters and DVI to HDMI adapters are passive and the wiring is pretty straight forward, a DVI-cable should be able to carry audio and HDCP as well as video?
If I have a graphics card that outputs HDMI, and I use a HDMI to DVI adapter, and then convert it back to HDMI using a DVI to HDMI adapter, will I still get audio and HDCP to my TV?
Just a thought experiment.
This would be the same as VGA as a interface not supporting HD, while VGA as cable does, right?
