What alternatives are there to iTunes? I have an iPod, so it must sync with it. I like the UI, but sometimes it is painfully slow.

MediaMonkey is a fairly powerful music manager that supports syncing to iPods. |

There's a great list here of iPod utilities - the app they recommend for syncing music etc. is called Floola. |

Songbird is meant to be quite good, and has a similar interface to iTunes. |

I use foobar2000 with the iPod Manager plugin. It not only supports synching to a library, but also upload/removal of individial songs or albums. |

Sharepod is much faster than iTunes, which is why I use it. In fact, I can't remember the last time I used iTunes. You don't need to install Sharepod (you only need .NET Framework 2 to be installed). I don't think it rips CDs but that's fine by me, I use EAC or CDEx to rip exactly as I like. |

I use Winamp with ml_ipod plugin. It's great if you have an older iPod. I use it with my Shuffle 2G. It does not work with the latest iPhone/iTouches. |

Winamp Media Player is an option to try.

As an alternative method you can try Rockbox firmware on your iPod. And put your music on the iPod with just copy and paste. It plays a wider range of audio formats, has lots of games, applications and features You can easily try it, since it doesn't modify the original Apple firmware you can just switch to your old Apple firmware if you don't like it. Here is a comparison with original firmwares and the rockbox one. |

Try copytransmanager. Not sure it works with iOS4 yet, it didn't when I got my iPhone 4 on release date. But i've used it on all my other devices flawlessy. |
