I just encountered some problems after setting up an Arch Linux with Cinnamon on a VirtualBox.
At first, I had performance problems, because 3D acceleration wasn't active. After solving that issue, I got a black background when rebooted. While doing some other stuff, after about 10 minutes, the wallpaper suddenly appeared.
Next step was changing the wallpaper to see what happens: It disappeared and the background was black again. Rebooting the system caused the wallpaper to show up for about one second and then disappearing. I just don't see what's wrong here.
Oh, in addition, after logging in from slim, it takes about 20-30 seconds until cinnamon shows up. It doesn't look like system resources are too small, one the system is loaded and I can view them.
There seems to be some problem with the graphical interface. While the preview window in the VirtualBox Management Window refreshes when console or slim are active, it doesn't refresh wile cinnamon is running (I still see the background of the login screen).
Are there some tweaks that must be done when using a VM? (the guest additions are installed and the vboxvideo module is loaded)
Thanks in advance, Wolle
