I've set the shell variable in Console2 to:
C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe --login -i
I then launch vim. When I do so two problems happen
While in normal mode if I press an arrow key once nothing happens. If I press an arrow key repeatedly then I can move in the required direction although the first keypress is ignored. The string '^[[C', no quotes, is displayed in the statusline when I press the right key. Similarly for up, down and left but with A, B and C instead.
While in insert mode I have the same problem with the additional behaviour that a capital letter (A, B, C or D) is output momentarily at the cursor location before disappearing. Once I stop navigating with the arrow keys the editor returns to normal mode after a second or so.
I am using /usr/share/vim/vim73/vimrc_example.vim
What is going wrong here?
