I tried everything but keep getting the following error: "Duplicated MAC address".

Nothing is duplicated. I disconnected the PC that I would like to assign the IP.

Basically this is important as I will configure some port forwarding and my notebook must always get the same IP from DHCP. This is called DHCP reservation but apparently is not working on this router.

Has anyone being luck to have this working? The model is CG814WG and you have to click on LAN IP under web administration,

I hope you are not using one of those: wired.com/threatlevel/2009/10/time-warner-cable – innaM Oct 26 '09 at 10:07
Not 100% familiar with this router but is it possible that the router has cloned the MAC address of the PC you are trying to reserve for? Many routers have a feature to clone the connected computers MAC. – Matt Oct 26 '09 at 17:50

Why DHCP reserved? Why not just give it a static IP address outside of your IP space privisioned for DHCP? I usually have 20 IP's for DHCP which is overkill and then assign my static boxes above this range. – Chris Sep 2 '10 at 12:21
