I am in the process of a major website overhaul, and we are moving a website between servers with different IP addresses. During this overhaul/redesign process I would like to be able to access both websites at the same time, but the problem is that they need to have the same URI. A lot of the code is based off of knowing the http subdomain request.
I get to our new site via an entry in the host file, but when I do this obviously I can longer get to our live public site. My thought was that I could take advantage of Google Chrome's DNS cache and edit an entry in there so that Chrome will always go to my live site while my other browsers will read from host file and go to the test site where the new version lives.
Is there a way to edit the DNS cache of Chrome?
