So, I'm running arch with xfce4 as my desktop environment. For anything I've been needing to add to my tray, I've just been placing them in the
Session and Startup settings dialog and it's been forking fine for everything (NetworkManager, shutter, xfce4-power-manager, other pulseaudio volume applets, etc.) except
pasystray. I really prefer pasystray over other pa volume applets that I've tried but the whenever I add an entry in
Session and Startup for it with the command
pasystray it just doesn't show up in the tray or even in
ps. I have to manually launch it by running the command
pasystray after xfce4 has loaded.
There was one when xfce started and there was the pasystray icon in the tray, but it just said "Connecting to server" on hover in a tooltip, so I exited it and manually started it again and it was working fine. This leads me to believe that it's being started to early (before pulseaudio starts?) and is just exiting/crashing because of that.
Does anyone know how to have xfce start applications later or in some sort of order. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this in the current
Session and Startup settings dialog.
Thanks in advance.
