I have an astrology application (Parashara Light 7.0).
It worked fine, but after reinstalling windows (xp sp3) I start the application normally, but cannot open any file.
Instead - a message appears:
pl7.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience...

All others applications run well (including CorelDraw, PhotoShop...).

What could be the reason, pls ?

Have you tried re-installing the application (Parashara) - you may have overwritten a specific file version that it needs when you re-installed XP. Also make sure you've done all the Windows Updates after your re-install of XP. –  misterjaytee Jun 15 '13 at 8:26
@misterjaytee, yesterday, Parashara worked without any win update. My win has identical configuration as earlier. I also reinstalled the application two times. –  bonaca Jun 15 '13 at 8:31
It sounds like a missing file or wrong version of a file - if you look in the Application Log, are there any events associated with the Application? If so, you may get more detail about the error. If not, you'll probably need to raise a support ticket with GeoVision who publish this software. –  misterjaytee Jun 15 '13 at 8:41
Thanks a lot. It works now. I'm not sure how and why. Probably some ghosts are in my room. –  bonaca Jun 15 '13 at 15:39
