Do you want a physical keyboard or can you live with the on-screen software keyboard? Do you plan to send a lot of text messages or emails from the phone? – snark Oct 26 at 15:09

HTC Touxh HD is pretty good on all counts, been using for about 6 months at work with no probelms.

Only complaint i have is the stock case is simply a 'sock'

I can heartily recommend the HTC Touch Pro2. I've had one for about a month and a half. it's like having a small laptop. It does the touch-screen stuff as well as having a slide out (landscape mode) keyboard. It does data, WiFi, GPS, has an accelerometer, and has a SIM card slot for when you go overseas. It does threaded text messaging and I have it synched up with my Hotmail account in addition to Outlook on my laptop. I've yet to explore everything this gem can do and I got it for $99 (though I think the price is back up to $199 at Verizon)
